Last week, FSU officially extended a scholarship to four-star wide receiver and Georgia commit, Ny Carr. It didn't take long for Carr to swing by campus. Days later, he dropped by Tallahassee on Sunday afternoon for a personal visit with the coaching staff.
"I loved it," Carr said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis. "They show you a lot of love here. Coming from where I am from, that is good, to get the love."
"They didn't tell me nothing. They just wanted me to know that they like me as a player and they want me here," Carr continued. "Reached out to me, talked to me about it. Get the insight of who I am and they wanted to let me know a couple of things about them and I told them some about me."
The Georgia native is a playmaker who can make tough catches downfield despite being heavily covered. The Seminoles know how talented he is between the lines but the majority of Carr's conversations with the coaching revolved about him off the field.
"Because I take the top off the defense. We didn't really too much talk about me as a player, we talked about me as a person, my personality, and my character," Carr said. "Things I need to work on. Things that I have improved on. Stuff like that. That is it. We just talked about me as a person. Letting them know how they feel about me."
One of the moments that stood out was being welcomed to campus by head coach Mike Norvell and tight ends coach Chris Thomsen, who is his area recruiter. Shortly after, Carr was escorted through Doak Campbell Stadium with a highlight video playing on the jumbotron.
"I love that moment the most actually," Carr said. "Because it just showed me the environment here, the atmosphere, it is an elite atmosphere."
While he was at Florida State, Carr was able to sit down with coach Norvell for a meeting in his office. He described the direction of their conversations.
"We talked about past things and who I've become at this point right now, and who I was back then," Carr said. "So we just got on a good standpoint of our relationship
Florida State's ten win season and ability to overcome adversity is attractive to Carr. He was impressed by the performance of the wide receivers and how position coach Ron Dugans was able to utilize the talent at his disposal.
"They played great. I talked to Coach Dugans, I told him I liked the way that he recruits his players," Carr said. "He gets different types of personalities out of all his players and they are different types of players, so that is what I like being around, like different people, different in their own ways, go out there and be playmakers, be ballers. I enjoyed that."
"It makes a big difference," Carr continued. "When you put in the work, you grind, it shows. That is what I want to be a part of. I want to be a part of a team that grinds and gets better with each other and wins."
Those he's been committed to Georgia since July, Carr is still exploring his options. He plans to return to Florida State in the spring and notes that the Seminoles are a possible option to land an Official Visit as well.
"My recruitment is open, so I am just looking for a home, looking for a place to be," Carr said.
The 6-foot, 170-pound wide receiver is regarded as the No. 67 overall prospect, the No. 9 WR, and the No. 12 recruit in the state of Georgia in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
