Florida State sits in the middle of the spring with one of the top running backs in the 2024 class - Five-Star running back Kam Davis - already in the fold. Davis has been pledged to the Seminoles for over two years and revealed in March that he's in the process of shutting down his recruitment.

With that being said, the coaching staff is searching for a running mate to add alongside Davis in the future of the backfield. There are multiple players on the board that the Seminoles have been evaluating this year.

On Saturday, Four-Star running back Christian Clark arrived in Tallahassee with his family to visit the school for the first time as a recruit. He has a couple of family ties to Florida State as his mom and uncle (Kenny Felder) both attended the university.

"First of all, I love the coaches, the culture of everything that coach Norvell is bringing to the program," Clark said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis. "The campus is beautiful, I love it. My mom and my uncle, they both went here, she says it's way different from when she was here. The running backs, just great people, all five of them treated me like a little brother as soon as they met me."

The Seminoles had been working to get Clark on campus over the last couple of months. With the trip finally coming to fruition, it sounds like everything met his expectations.

"It's the place to be. It's a brotherhood," Clark said. "There's no jealousy, no nothing. Everybody wants to see each other be great and that's the type of environment I love."

One of the first things he was able to do during the visit was observe Florida State's second scrimmage of the spring. He noticed the competitive energy surrounding the team and kept an eye on the running backs.

"I loved how competitive everything was. Competition, that's huge, I love that," Clark said. "The environment of course, the music playing in the background and everything, I loved it."

"I love how the running backs are able to get in space," Clark continued. "I love inside zone, they're inside zone and run plays is similar to the ones I ran at Mountain Pointe [his high school]."

Following the scrimmage, Clark went through a unique experience where he was able to sit down with all five of Florida State's running backs. They were able to give him an inside look into how the program has changed over the last couple of years.

"It's a brotherhood," Clark said. "Seeing him come in, some of them were able to see the transition of the culture, of the program as soon as coach Norvell, coach YAC came in."

Clark sat down with head coach Mike Norvell in his office prior to the conclusion of the visit. Norvell made it clear that he's going to push him to be his best if he chooses the Seminoles.

"He wants to coach me to push me to be the best, no days off," Clark said. "He would always be on me to not set me short and help me reach my potential."

The Arizona native noted that the people at Florida State were something that caught his attention.

"The people. Interacting with the people, they're all nice, good, genuine people," Clark said. "That's the environment I would be around."

Despite his far proximity from campus, Clark has a lot of family on the east coast. He's familiar with the Niceville area, which is where sophomore cornerback Azareye'h Thomas hails from.

"I have a lot of family on this side of the country," Clark said. "When I was younger, all of my summers would be down in Niceville or the Destin area."

Coming out of the visit, Clark says that he "loved" his experience at Florida State and that the Seminoles are "still high" on his list.

"I knew I would love it. Of course, I have a lot of history at Florida State," Clark said. "I knew I would love it but I loved it even more, being able to interact with coach Norvell, coach YAC, the players, all the other coaches, and touring the campus."

At this point, he hasn't set up any official visits during his recruitment. Clark is planning to return to Florida State later this year and also mentioned USC and Oregon.

The 6-foot, 195-pound running back is regarded as the No. 270 overall prospect, the No. 23 RB, and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Arizona in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
