The Florida State Seminoles are hard at work on the recruiting trail with two big official visit weekends ahead of the December 20th Early Signing Period. This past weekend, FSU hosted seven official visitors from the 2024 class, and for many of them, it solidified their decision to call FSU their next home.

One of those recruits was three-star linebacker Jayden Parrish, who chose FSU over schools like Miami, Auburn, UCF, and Kentucky. Despite the multitude of offers he's received, Parrish has bled garnet and gold since he was offered by the Seminoles and his official visit was in many ways a formality. With that being said, the visit did all but allow him to officially sign with Florida State as his decision has been made for months.

"It was a great visit, I had a good time throughout the weekend," Parrish said. "The coaches showed love and why it's a great place to be, they made my mom and my dad happy, they're comfortable with me here so that's why I feel like it's a great place to be."

Since he committed to Florida State in April, Parrish has made the trip to Tallahassee three times. He also watched the Seminoles defeat LSU from the stands in Orlando to begin the 2023 season. Parrish noted the differences between this weekend and his prior visits mostly had to do with the off-field stuff that comes with being a collegiate athlete.

"This visit we went through more academics, they showed where I'll be standing in my classes and stuff, so that was pretty much the difference. they also showed us some pretty great spots around the area," Parrish said.

A meeting with head coach Mike Norvell is a major part of each recruit's visit, whether it is official or unofficial. For Parrish, the meeting not only made him sure that he wants to play for FSU, but that he also wants to play for Norvell.

"He was just telling me that it's going to be some tough days and some good days, but it's all love, and I want that from a coach because everything isn't always going to be perfect, so that's a good thing," Parrish said.

The on-field success of Florida State was enough to impress fans, and even more so recruits. It was hard for anyone to not be amazed at some of the moments the Seminoles had on the gridiron this season as they finished the regular season undefeated and won the ACC championship for the first time since 2014. Parrish added that the adversity this team has bounced back from is a major reason why it is so special.

"They're headed in a great direction, they showed a lot of fight and adversity with an injured quarterback, second-string quarterback, third-string quarterback, they still find a way to win. That just shows the adversity this program has overcome and the direction it's headed."

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound recruit from Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, FL is set to sign with FSU on Wednesday, December 20, and will enroll in January.

Parrish is regarded No. 673 overall prospect, the No. 62 LB, and the No. 93 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
