Top-5 Prospect, Five-Star Defensive Lineman Schedules Return Visit To Florida State

In this story:
Florida State has been racking up success on the recruiting trail over the last couple of weeks after netting seven new commitments since the beginning of the month. The Seminoles did lose four-star wide receiver TJ Abrams to the Gators but the flip didn't come as much of a shock.
The coaching staff is looking to close the summer on a high note with a recruiting event at the end of July. Some of Florida State's top targets in the 2024 and 2025 classes are expected to be in attendance.

That group of prospects will include plenty of talent. On Wednesday, five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount announced on social media that he'll be back in Tallahassee on Saturday, July 29. Blount previously visited FSU in March and the trip appeared to make a sizable impact on his recruitment.

Though just a rising junior, Blount is one of the top names to know on the Seminoles' wishlist in the 2025 class. The South Florida star totaled 30 tackles for loss and 16 sacks in 11 games for Dillard High School last season. He transferred to the renowned Miami Central High School to finish out his prep career. The Rockets finished 14-0 and won a state championship in 2022.
The Florida native also competes in the shot put. He won the Florida 3A shot put state title as a freshman and previously was named the AAU Junior Olympics 14-year-old champion in the sport.
Blount's list of offers includes Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida, Notre Dame, and Michigan, among others. Outside of Florida State, he's visited the Crimson Tide, Gators, and Miami since last summer.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman is regarded as the No. 4 overall prospect, the No, 2 DL, and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
