Two Recruits That Officially Visited Florida State Earlier This Month Commit To Other Programs

In this story:
Florida State is set to hold one of its largest official visit weekends ever to conclude the month of June. The Seminoles have hosted 14 recruits for official visits over the last couple of weeks and are expected to double that number when prospects arrive in Tallahassee on Friday.

The coaching staff is hoping to build some momentum on the recruiting trail after failing to land a commitment so far this month. During the drought, multiple players that the Seminoles were interested in have committed elsewhere including four-star offensive lineman Jason Zandamela (USC), four-star defensive lineman Nasir Johnson (UF), and four-star offensive lineman Manasse Itete (USC).
Over the last 24 hours, two more prospects that Florida State hosted for official visits earlier in June pledged to other programs as four-star defensive back Jiquavious Marshall went off the board to Kentucky and four-star running back Christian Clark committed to Texas. Both players were in Tallahassee from June 2-4.
Marshall previously named FSU the favorite in his recruitment after his trip to campus. The rangy defensive back has the ability to play multiple positions in the secondary at the college level. He pledged to the Wildcats after visiting the program over the weekend.
This isn't necessarily a bad sign for the Seminoles as Marshall preferred to slot in as a cornerback. The coaching staff appears to be gaining some momentum with five-star Charles Lester III, four-star Ricky Knight III, and three-star Kevin Levy after all three were on campus last weekend.
Moving on to Clark, he was one of Florida State's top options to add a second fiddle alongside four-star commitment Kam Davis. After building a strong relationship with running backs coach David Johnson and multiple current players on the team, the Seminoles were a major player in his recruitment.
It also helped that Clark's mom and uncle both attended FSU. Alas, it wasn't enough in the end after Texas pulled him into its 2024 class following a recent official visit. Like with Marshall, this isn't the end of the world because the Seminoles have kept multiple options on their running back board.
Though they missed out on Clark, Florida State will likely set its sights on four-star running back Micahi Danzy. A local prospect who attends Florida State University School, Danzy is expected to make the short trek over to campus this weekend for his official visit. It wouldn't be surprising to see him officially join the fold shortly thereafter.
