WATCH LIVE: Five-Star CB Charles Lester III Set To Announce Between FSU, Colorado, And Others

It's decision day for one of Florida State's top targets in the entire 2024 class. After taking three official visits during the course of June, five-star cornerback Charles Lester III is ready to make his college announcement.

While Lester didn't name a list of contenders leading up to his decision, Florida State and Colorado are believed to be the two teams sitting in the best position to add him to their respective recruiting classes. Lester is coming off a multiday unofficial visit to Boulder where Deion Sanders was able to make the last impression.

Regardless, Florida State has been pushing for Lester after the program offered him a scholarship well over a year ago. His trip to Tallahassee last month was the ninth visit to the Seminoles during the course of his recruitment.

"I had a great time. I had time to come closer with the coaching staff, meet some of the new players, and just enjoy time here where I feel the most comfortable at," Lester said to NoleGameday previously. "It's a great place, great environment, and it only can explain itself so whoever comes and takes this trip knows what FSU football is about. I just enjoy every single minute I'm here."

The Florida native explained after his official visit that he has a 'different type of feeling' about FSU. Lester has noted previously that he grew up dreaming about playing for the Seminoles. He has an opportunity to make that reality tonight.

"Just the tradition and the culture of the Florida State Seminoles. I mean it's just heartfelt, I can't even explain the feeling, it's a different type of feeling," Lester said. "Every time I get here I feel like I'm a kid at heart. Everything's exciting. I'm just so blessed to be here and be around this wonderful university that I always dreamed to come true."

The 6-foot-1, 171-pound cornerback is regarded as the No. 19 overall prospect, the No. 2 CB, and the No. 4 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.

As a junior, he recorded 18 tackles and five interceptions on defense while catching 34 passes for 354 yards and four touchdowns on offense. Lester helped guided Riverview High School to the third round of Florida's 4S playoffs while earning playing time at cornerback, wide receiver, and wildcat quarterback.
