Florida State is looking to bring in a sizable group of defensive backs in the 2024 class. The Seminoles already have four-star cornerback Ricky Knight III and three-star safety CJ Heard pledged but the coaching staff has its eyes set on a variety of prospects from the southeast.

The list of wants includes three-star safety Rydarrius 'Red' Morgan, who is scheduled to announce his decision on the night of July 4. Morgan previously named a top six of Florida State, Miami, Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, and Cincinnati.

The Seminoles, Hurricanes, and Tigers are the three programs in the best spot to land his commitment. Morgan kicked off his round of official visits in Tallahassee at the beginning of June.

"FSU is something that I want to be a part of, so they are high on my list right now, and like I said, coach Norvell is building something different here," Morgan said to NoleGameday previously. "Something that I'd like to be a part of."

The energy at Florida State is something that has caught his attention. Morgan clicked with the players and coaches during his most recent trip to campus.

"It's just the energy. That Warchant, it's like music to my ears. It's just so satisfying to me. Stuff like that," Morgan said. "It was a lot. Like the new facility that they're fixing to get, that's going to be crazy."

Florida State's 2024 class holds 14 verbal commitments and is ranked No. 14 in the country.

The 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back is regarded as the No. 545 overall prospect, the No. 53 S, and the No. 28 recruit in the state of Alabama in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.

As a junior, he totaled 50 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, four pass deflections, and two interceptions.
