Two targets to keep a close eye on will be committing this weekend, including five-star safety KJ Bolden.

Florida State wasted no time continuing its success on the recruiting trail into August. On the first day of the month, the Seminoles picked up a pledge from three-star offensive lineman Jayden Todd, who became the fourth commitment for the program in five days.

The coaching staff has built a top-10 recruiting class over the past couple of weeks. FSU begins the final month prior to the 2023 season with 21 verbal commitments and the No. 6 class in the country according to 247Sports.

Now the question shifts to who could be the next prospect to commit to Florida State and #Tribe24? There are a couple of options to take note of, including two that have announced commitment dates.

Five-star safety KJ Bolden and four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon are scheduled to make their decisions on Saturday, August 5. Two other names to watch are four-star defensive back Wardell Mack and three-star athlete Gregory Smith. Mack cut down to a top four in July while Smith previously stated he'd be committing on August 1 before pushing things back.

Bolden is Florida State's top remaining uncommitted prospect on the board. The No. 1 safety in the country has slowly begun to trend in the Seminoles' favor over the last month following an unofficial visit in June. Bolden grew up dreaming to play for the program and it certainly didn't help that they landed a commitment from five-star cornerback Charles Lester III a few days ago.

The Seminoles are in the middle of a tough battle with Georgia, Ohio State, and Auburn. The next couple of days will be crucial but Florida State might've done enough to pull off a home run.

"Ya'll know Florida State's my dream school for me. Even though they started recruiting me later on down the road, it's still like the love I've got for this school didn't go away," Bolden said previously. "I've definitely got to come down here again, check it out. I'm probably going to be back for an official during the season for one of the games. Might come back for that Miami game or something like that but yeah definitely just love it down here for sure."

Solomon is another option on Florida State's vast defensive back board. He named the Seminoles the leader in his recruitment following his official visit in June. However, that doesn't appear to be the case any longer after Solomon only visited South Carolina and Auburn this past weekend. He seems primed to commit to the Gamecocks or Tigers.

That may be a good sign for the Seminoles' chances with Bolden, depending on how you view the situation.

"I'll go anywhere I feel like I'm wanted and like I said, relationships, seeing how the guys are so close together. They went everywhere with each other." Solomon said previously. "I like that brotherhood they have. I've got to feel comfortable, I've got to love the head coach, and I have to love the people outside of football. That's about it."

There probably won't be as many recruits making decisions this month that Florida State is involved with, especially with the program holding two verbal commitments. Two prospects to keep an outside eye on are Mack and Smith.

Mack was in Tallahassee for an official visit in June and listed the Seminoles in his top four alongside Florida, LSU, and Texas. The Longhorns seem to have the most momentum with the summer coming to a close. Florida State has landed multiple other cornerbacks over the past few weeks including Lester and four-star Ricky Knight III.

Smith picked up an offer from the Seminoles on June 21 after his performance at a summer camp. He recently began playing on the defensive side of the ball after beginning his prep career as a quarterback. Florida State will have to decide if there is still room remaining in the class for Smith if Bolden jumps on board.
