Carson Beck the Favorite to Win 2024 Heisman Trophy

Recent reports indicate that the Georgia Bulldogs quarterback is leading the way in the veryearly Heisman odds for the 2024 season.

The college football world has already begun thinking about the 2024 season, making early predictions for some teams' records following the conference re-alignment, and now some odds have been released for the Heisman Award that has Carson Beck as the current favorite.

Brent McMurphy put the odds from FanDuel Sportsbook onto X, and they have Beck sitting at 7 1/2 to 1 odds, tied with Texas QB Quinn Ewers as the favorite for next season. Neither quarterback finished in the top ten in the 2023 Heisman voting, but they are arguably the two best quarterbacks for this upcoming season.

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck (15) is hoisted into the air by Georgia offensive guard Tate Ratledge (69) after scoring a touchdown versus UAB on Sept. 23, 2023 (Tony Walsh / UGAAA).

Following them is Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who has 10-1 odds. Then, two players are sitting at odds of 12-1: Ohio State's Will Howard and Alabama's Jalen Milroe. Behind them is Tennessee's Nico Iamaleava with 15-1 odds. Three players have 18-1 odds: Oklahoma's Jackson Arnold, Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart, and LSU's Garrett Nussmeier. Finally, four players have odds of 20-1: Arizona's Noah Fifta, Notre Dame's Riley Leonard, Miami's Cam Ward, and Texas A&M's Conner Weigman. Also in this conversation is former Florida Gators running back who transferred to Georgia, Trevor Etienne, sitting at 60-1 odds.

Beck opened up as one of the possibilities to win the Heisman Trophy before the 2023 season had begun and watched Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr., and Jayden Daniels run away from the competition, with Daniels eventually winning the award. This year may be a different story, as it seems, for now, that the quarterback competition from this class is not as competitive as it may have been in years prior. Nevertheless, these players must hit the gridiron and play above expectations to keep their names involved in the Heisman conversation.
