Georgia Football Lands Number One Recruiting Class After Final 247Sports Rankings Update

The Dawgs are on top once again, claiming the top spot in the 2024 recruiting class following the final 247Sports player rankings update.

The 2024 recruiting class has benefitted the Georgia Bulldogs, who spent most of their recruiting through the summer as they were preparing for a historic 2023 football season. 247Sports has released its final player rankings update for this class, and it has almost certainly solidified the Bulldogs as the number one recruiting class in 2024

Along with this final rankings update, Georgia gained a new five-star rating for their group while the class's overall picture was painted. Kirby Smart and his staff landed four players who were dubbed the fifth star. The first is the nation's second-best player and top cornerback, Ellis Robinson IV. With a .9989 composite ranking, Robinson is the Bulldogs' fourth-highest-rated recruit to sign with the team, following Justin Fields, Nolan Smith, and Trenton Thompson.

Also in the secondary is five-star safety KJ Bolden. He is ranked 15th nationally from Buford High School; the in-state prospect received a .9951 composite ranking. The nation's best linebacker is the one player between Bolden and Robinson in these rankings. Justin Williams is 2024's best linebacker, having the five-star rank for a few months. He ranks tenth in the 2024 class while receiving a composite rank of .9960.

His running mate is Glenn Schumann's newest five-star prospect. The country's third-best linebacker and 23rd-best player is a man by the name of Chris Cole. He was a four-star prospect when committing to Georgia, but a stellar senior season out in Virginia that saw him lead his team to a deep playoff run helped him be dubbed Georgia's newest five-star in the 2024 class. With him no longer being a four-star prospect, the Dawgs have 16 players with this rank.

Keeping things on the defensive side of the ball, the first two four-stars are defensive line commits. Nasir Johnson is the first, being the tenth-best defensive lineman for the 2024 class. He also ranks as the 52nd-best player from this class and the seventh-best player in the State of Georgia, receiving a .9384 composite ranking. He is followed by the 11th-best defensive lineman and Justin Williams' teammate, Joseph Jonah-Ajonye. With a composite ranking of .9845, he is the country's 56th-rated player.

Jordan Thomas and Justin Greene are two more four-stars from the defensive line group. Thomas is rated as the No. 1 player from New Jersey, the 14th-best defensive lineman, and the 75th-best player nationally, earning himself a composite rank of .9439. Greene, on the other hand, is the 35th-rated defensive lineman and is not rated nationally. But, in the composite rankings, he received a .9375 ranking while being ranked 148th nationally.

Three more defensive players with a four-star, starting with Demello Jones. Listed as a cornerback, Jones is the sixth-best player at this position and 74th nationally while being given a .9699 composite ranking. The next player is Ondre Evans, another cornerback to be added to this class. Listed as the ninth-best player for his position and 106th nationally, 247Sports gave him a .9520 composite rank. Finally, we have another player from Virginia who plays linebacker. Kristopher Jones has a composite rank of .9412, being considered the tenth-best player at his position and 127th nationally.

Moving on to the offensive side of the ball, Georgia's big offensive line unit fills up these ranks. Daniel Calhoun starts the list off as the fifth-best offensive tackle and 66th-best player nationally, receiving a composite rank of .9458. He is followed by Michael Uni, the 1tth-rated OT, 118th for all positions, with his composite rank being .9423. Marques Easley and Nyier Daniels. Easley is the nation's 160th-best player, 14th0best OT, and a .9122. Daniels is coming in with a 222nd national rank. a 22nd OT rank, and a .9174 composite rank.

The two running backs from the four-star ranks are Nate Frazier and Dwight Phillips Jr. Frazier is listed as the nation's second-best back and 71st-best player nationally and has a .9785 composite rank. Phillips is the 20th-best RB; while not being rated nationally in these final rankings, he has a composite ranking of 152nd nationally and a .9304 prospect rating. The man handing them the ball will be four-star QB Ryan Puglisi. He is rated the 10th-est quarterback, 143rd nationally, and a .9484 for his player composite rankings.

The final skill players wth a four-star is tight end Jaden Reddell and wide receiver NiTareon "Nitro" Tuggle. Reddell is finishes as the seventh-best TE from 2024, rated 100th nationally, and a rating of .9715. "Nitro" is one of the few wide receivers coming out of high school this recruiting cycle, listed as the 24th-ranked player at his position, 123rd nationally, and a composite rank of .9540.

Now going to the 3-stars, Georgia was able to land eight players with this rank. Stciking with the skills, Sacovie White starts the list as the 32nd-best athlete, and no national rank, with a player composite rating of .8929. Two more offensive lineman make up the three stars, with Marcus Harrison leading the way. He is the 33rd-best offensive tackle with no national rank, and a player composite rating of .8889. Then Malachi Toliver finishes off the offensive line commits for 2024, rated as the 83rd-best interior offensive lineman and a player rating of .8642.

The defensive line group helps finish off this list with Quintavious Johnson and Nnamdi Ogboko. Johnson is an EDGE and is rated 37th for his position and finishing with a player rating of .8950. Ogboko, meanwhile, finished the year as the 96th-best defensive lineman and a player rating of .8756. Rounding out the total of 29 commits is punter Drew Miller, who 247Sports has as their No. 1 player for that position, and a player rating of .8367.

Georgia has racked up one of the best recruiting classes in recent memory, and this final recruiting rankings update by 247Sports only backs this up further. All of these players will play a crucial role this coming year, whether they see immediatte playing time or spend their time preparing upper classman ahead of them, and gaining more knowledge and skills to develop them into one of the best players at their respective decisions.
