Georgia Offensive Assistant Joins Dell McGee at Georgia State

Georgia football assistant offensive line coach Manrey Saint-Amour has joined Dell McGee at Georgia State.

Over the weekend, the news became official that the Georgia State football program named Georgia running backs coach Dell McGee as their new head coach. With spring practice right around the corner, McGee will have to work rather quickly to get his staff put together and he has already plucked one coach away from Athens. Offensive line assistant coach Manrey Saint-Amour will be joining McGee at Georgia State.

Before coming to Georgia, Saint-Amour was an assistant coach at Charleston Southern. He also played college football at Georgia Southern where he was an All-Conference center. He was also an offensive line graduate assistant at Alabama and Florida State before being hired at Charleston Southern.

It's no surprise that McGee would be sniffing around the Georgia coaching staff in hopes of bringing some of them with him to Atlanta. He spent the last eight seasons in Athens, so it would make sense that he not only built relationships while there but also became a coach that other staff members trusted and felt they would enjoy working under McGee at another program.

The Bulldogs have been filling out their own staff over the last week as well with Bryan McClendon also leaving the program to go coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The program has since hired James Coley to be the team's new wide receivers coach and Josh Crawford, the wide receivers coach at Georgia Tech to be the new running backs coach.
