Top-250 OL Marques Easley Commits to Georgia

On Saturday, 4-star OT Marques Easley ended his recruitment when he committed to Georgia.

In a 2024 recruiting cycle in which elite offensive tackle prospects are not as plentiful as they are in most cycles, Kankakee (IL) offensive tackle Marques Easley has been heavily pursued by a litany of college football's premier programs. On Saturday, however, Easley ended his recruiting process when he publicly committed to Georgia over offers from Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma among others.

The 4-star prospect is ranked No. 212 overall and as the No. 17 offensive tackle in the 2024 recruiting class by 247 Sports. In recent years the month of June has become the most active month on the recruiting calendar and Easley took full advantage of the opportunity to take visits and narrow the list of contenders for his signature. The 6-foot-5, 335-pound lineman took official visits to Georgia on June 2, Oklahoma on June 9, Tennessee on June 16, and Alabama on June 23. On June 19, Easley released a top-3 that included Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma, but it was ultimately Georgia, who was conspicuously excluded from his stated top-3, that was able to earn his commitment.

With the addition of the Kankakee, Illinois native, Georgia's top-ranked 2024 recruiting class continues to separate further from the pack. Easley's commitment caps off an impressive eight-day run that saw Georgia reload its offensive line coffers by adding  four top-250 offensive linemen to its No.1-ranked 2024 recruiting class. With Easley's commitment, the Bulldogs now have a total of six offensive linemen committed in the 2024 class.
