Super Bowl Storylines: Bulldog Players Playing in the Big Game

As the Super Bowl quickly approaches, here are some major storylines for these former Bulldogs.

The Super Bowl is just a few short hours away and while the game is certainly one of the most important sporting events in any athlete's life, each Bulldog competing this Sunday has a specific reason as to what makes it so important. Here are a few storylines that some former Bulldogs in regards to Super Bowl LVIII. 

Charlie Woerner

While Woerner has not been a massive receiving threat for the 49ers this season, the tight end has been a massive contributor to the team's successes in the blocking department. Look for the former Bulldog to be a major factor in Sunday's game

Mecole Hardman 

After a brief stint with the New York Jets in 2023, Hardman returned to the team that drafted him during the regular season. The Chiefs' wide receiver was a part of the team's Super Bowl victories in 2019 and 2022 and could earn the third ring of his career.

Robert Beal Jr.

While the injured reserve will keep Beal off the field Sunday, the 49ers rookie has a chance to follow up his back-to-back national title victories with the Bulldogs with a third ring in as many seasons.

Chris Conley 

As the oldest former Bulldog in the big game, Chris Conley's first trip to the Super Bowl is likely the veteran's best chance to finish his career with a ring. While Conley's on-field contributions have been minimal, the wide receiver has stepped up in some major moments during the season.

Malik Herring

Herring has been a consistent member of the Chiefs' successes since joining the team in 2021. With a win on Sunday, Herring will earn his second ring with the team that he began his career with.
