Roquan Smith Talks About the Hiring of Todd Monken

Fresh off of back-to-back national titles with Georgia, former offensive coordinator Todd Monken accepted a job to be the new OC for the Baltimore Ravens this spring. It was a job Monken deserved after bringing what used to be considered a stagnant Georgia offense to the next level of explosiveness.

The Ravens had a former Bulldog already in-house, except on the defensive side in Roquan Smith. Smith was in a press conference on May 24th and had some positive comments about the 2022 national championship team and the hiring of Monken.

"Very excited about Monk," Smith stated, "I vividly remember watching games in the fall - how he utilized everyone in their positions - I'm like, 'man if this was brought to the league, it's gonna create a lot of problems." Smith continued on to say, "It's obviously a great addition, and I'm excited to go against him every day in practice."

Monken is a former OC in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns before he joined Georgia's staff in 2020. After the Dawgs' offense exploded into the scene with Monken's creative mind behind it all, he took his talents back to the NFL, where he was before UGA. With Monken already receiving high praise from talented players in the NFL, it shows just how special Georgia's offense was under him.
