BREAKING: Mykel Williams to Miss the Remainder of Spring Practice with Injury

Due to injury, Georgia will be down another key member on its defense for the remainder of the spring.

Georgia defensive lineman Mykel Williams will miss the remainder of Georgia's Spring practice after receiving surgery to fix a toe injury, as first reported by rivals.com. The timetable for his return is currently unknown.

Williams, a former 5-star recruit from Columbus, Georgia burst onto the scene as a freshman near the end of the Bulldogs' 2022 national championship run and was predicted to be a massive leader for Kirby Smart's defense in the 2023 season.

The injury news comes as an unpleasant addition to a Georgia team that has already suffered a handful of injuries this spring practice. Injuries include, senior running back Kendall Milton, freshman tight end Pearce Spurlin, as well as a slew of lingering injuries from the previous season.

With Williams out, the Bulldogs will now look to its depth chart in hopes to find a suitable replacement during the dynamic pass rusher's absence. It also means, fans will likely see more reps for younger players during Georgia's spring scrimmage, which is set to take place Saturday, April 15th.
