Georgia Expected to Play in College Football's Toughest Environment for 2023 Season
A hostile home crowd in a college football game can be one of the best advantages a team has against its opponent. The roar of tens of thousands of screaming college adults and rowdy life-long fans has been rattling opposing teams since the infant days of the sport.
The Georgia Bulldogs certainly know about this home-field advantage and have used it to their benefit for quite some time now. In fact, the Bulldogs have lost just one home game in the past five seasons.
But Georgia will certainly enjoy a 2023 schedule that features seven total home games. The Bulldogs will also be traveling to what is expected to be the most hostile environment of the season.
A recent article by 247sports states that Georgia's visit to Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennesse is expected to be "The Most Intimidating Environment of the College Football Season".
Though Neyland Stadium is certainly not an easy place to play, Georgia has had a fair amount of success in Knoxville over the years. Under Kirby Smart, the Bulldogs are 3-0 in Neyland and have not lost in Knoxville since 2015.
Georgia fans will also remember last season's dominating win over Tennessee in Athens, where the Bulldog's home crowd wreaked havoc for Josh Heupel's fast-paced Tennessee offense. Volunteer fans will surely be looking to return the favor as the Bulldogs will travel into Knoxville with a new quarterback.
