WATCH: Kirby Smart Offers to Help Jim Furyk with Pre-Game Speeches

Georgia football head coach is known to tie one off during a speech before a game, and he offered to help PGA golfer Jim Furyk with his pre-game speeches if he ever needed it.

There is an art to keeping a team motivated and keeping players locked in and focused on the task at hand throughout an entire season. That task becomes even more difficult once your team has achieved its goal, but lack of motivation has never been an issue for head coach Kirby Smart and his team. Even after winning a national championship in 2021.

Fans have gotten a glimpse at what it is like to have Smart as a head coach as a couple of his pre-game speeches have gotten leaked over the past seven seasons. The Georgia head coach is known to tie one off right before a game to help make sure his players are game ready and understand what is at stake every single week.

Jim Furyk, who is a golfer on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions, caught up with Smart at the Regions Tradition pro-am to ask the head football coach for some advice on being a coach and a recruiter. And when Furyk asked for advice on recruiting guys to come and play on the President's Cup team, Smart didn't disappoint with his response.

"I mean, I think you've got enough talent in the pool, that you'll be fine. If you need any pre-game speeches the day before or the night before, fly me in. As long as you don't mind a few expletives. I can help you," said Smart.

Smart also mentioned in the interview that one of the keys to success is just staying motivated, and clearly, he has no issue keeping his players motivated throughout the season. The Bulldogs now prepare for the 2023 college football season and to defend their back-to-back national titles in hopes of winning a third.
