Georgia Football Reveals Impressive Statistic Ahead of NFL Draft

Georgia football revealed they have had the most players in the nation invited to the NFL combine over the past three years.

There is no hiding the fact that the Georgia football program is the new star in the sport. In just the past two seasons, the Bulldogs have won back-to-back titles while also setting new records for the NFL draft. Kirby Smart has built a well-oiled machine in Athens, Georgia, and by the looks of things, his team's nationwide success has only just begun.

With both the NFL and college now being in the offseason, the attention has now shifted to the NFL draft. Professional teams are trying to figure out what prospects they will have on their board when the draft rolls around, and college fans are eager to see where their favorite players are going to land in just a couple of months. As for Georgia's program, they will be well represented in this year's draft.

One of the most pivotal moments for prospects prior to the NFL draft is the combine event. Players who receive an invite to the combine are given the opportunity to interview with teams and display their talents on the football field one last time before they officially begin the next chapter of their careers.

This year, twelve total players from Georgia's program received an invite to the combine, which was the second most among all college teams. In fact, Georgia has made it a regular occurrence for them to have a plethora of athletes showcase their talents at the NFL combine.

During the 2021 combine, Georgia players took over the event with how well they were testing in each event and it was a major reason why the Bulldogs ended up with 15 total players drafted and five first-round picks a year ago.

Former Georgia wide receiver and rising NFL star George Pickens has mentioned before how his time in Athens helped prepare him for the NFL. "I went to Georgia, so half of the guys in my class or on the defense went first round," said Pickens. "So every day in practice, I'll probably say that was harder, to be honest. Because that's, that's all first-round talent."

Over the past few years, it has become evident that not only are people taking notice of what Georgia is doing at the collegiate level, but NFL organizations are starting to realize just how well Kirby Smart and his staff develop players every single year. And right now, it looks like the 2023 NFL draft will be yet another example of that.
