Kendall Milton Out for Remainder of Spring

Georgia running back Kendall Milton will be held out of practice for the remainder of the Spring.

Georgia is now a couple of weeks into Spring practice as they begin preparation for the 2023 season and to defend their back-to-back national titles. A major goal during Spring for every program is to make sure that their roster remains healthy. For that reason, running back Kendall Milton will be held out of practice for the remainder of Spring for precautionary reasons, sources confirmed. The story was first reported by Jake Rowe of on3.com.

Milton is one of many returning offensive pieces from the 2022 season for Georgia. Last year, the veteran running back racked up 590 rushing yards on 86 attempts and rushed for eight touchdowns. He became just the fourth Georgia running back since the year 2000 to average at least 6.9 yards per carry on 85+ attempts. The other three to do so were Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, and Todd Gurley.

Georgia's leading rusher from a season ago, Kenny McIntosh, is now headed to the NFL which opens the door for Milton to have a massive senior season. He will be a crucial player for Georgia on offense this upcoming season and to maintain that position, the Bulldogs have to make sure he is 100% health-wise when the Fall rolls around.

Georgia will now lean to another veteran back in Daijun Edwards and sophomore Branson Robinson to lead that spot on the depth chart for the remainder of Spring. The Bulldogs are known to split carries with three different running backs throughout the season, so this will be a good opportunity for Robinson to get his reps in and get prepared for an expected increase in usage.

It is expected that Milton will be a full go in plenty of time before the season rolls around, and he will be a major contributor for Georgia on the ground for the upcoming season just as expected.
