Sevaughn Clark Announces Return to Georgia

Georgia running back Sevaughn Clark takes his name out of the transfer portal and will return to Georgia for the upcoming season.

The Georgia Bulldogs had quite a few players enter the transfer portal following the 2022 season, and many of them have found new homes since then. Most recently though, running back Sevaughn Clark has announced that he has taken his name out of the portal and will return to Athens for the upcoming season.

Calrk enrolled at Georgia in 2019 and has served as a reserve for the Bulldogs. He has seen limited action over the past couple of seasons. In Georgia's spring game, Clark had two carries for nine yards and a touchdown.

The Bulldogs have recently gained a lot of needed depth at running back over the past few days. Former Tennessee running back Len'Neth Whitehead announced he would be transferring to Georgia. The Athens, Ga. native had 32 carries for 207 yards during Tennessee's 2022 season. His most productive game came against the Missouri Tigers when he rushed for 76 yards on just nine carries.

Georgia had quite a few of their running backs get banged up during spring practice this offseason and as a result, were pretty thin at the position going into the spring game. The Bulldogs will feature veteran backs Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards this year, along with Branson Robinson who showed a lot of potential as a true freshman a season ago.

Clark's return and the addition of Whitehead provide Georgia with some more comfort at the position. The Bulldogs have long had a reputation for stellar running back play each and every season and a big part of that has been how deep that spot on the roster runs. Now with the month of June inching closer and the season creeping up, the Bulldogs are in a much better place at running back than they were three months ago.
