Georgia Football: Today's Top Dawg, a Look back at UGA Great, A.J. Green

A.J. Green grew up in Summerville, South Carolina where he attended Summerville High School. Rated as the second-best receiver in the country in the class of 2008, (A guy by the name of Julio Jones was #1). A.J. is still the highest-rated wide receiver to ever attend UGA.
Green was the first high school player I remember to ever "Go viral" for a one-handed, acrobatic catch he made for Summerville High.
IF for some reason you've never seen it, here it is:
That video might remind some of you of Green's catch against Colorado in 2010.
But this is the type of playmaking ability Georgia fans fell in love with during A.J.'s three seasons in Athens. UGA had never seen, and hasn't had a guy since, that could high point the football like Green.
It's part of the reason he's had such a successful NFL career in Cincinnati.
A.J. Green ranks 4th on the all-time list for career receptions (166) despite playing a full season less than the three names above him.
He's also 3rd on the all-time list for career yards at (2,619) & 2nd all-time for career touchdown receptions (23) P.S. that Terrence Edwards was pretty damn good.
Pro Career
What's set A.J. Green apart from the others in the discussion for greatest UGA wide receiver ever is the success he's had at the professional level.
When fully healthy, Green has finished in the top-15 in receiving yards every season of his pro career.
He's been a quiet constant in Cincinnati since his first year entering the league in 2011. In fact, every season he plays at least 13 games (all but two) he's a lock for at least a thousand yards.
He's currently 8th on the NFL's active receiving yards leaders, and with Brandon Marshall and Larry Fitzgerald on the back end of their careers, he will soon be vaulting up that list.
In 111 career games in the NFL A.J. has amounted 602 receptions for 8,907 yards and 63 touchdowns. Assuming he continues this trajectory for three or four more seasons, I believe he's a sure-fire Hall of Famer.
Here's a look at some of A.J.'s best plays while at Georgia.
