Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith's Work Ethic Impresses Eagles Defensive Lineman

It seems that these Bulldog rookies are already turning some heads with their new NFL team

As Football season inches closer and closer, many new faces have begun to show their potential to their respective teams. One duo of players to already have done so are Eagles' rookies Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith.

The Eagles selected Carter and Smith in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Prior to their selection, the duo spent three years as teammates with the Georgia Bulldogs. In that time, they helped the Bulldogs win three straight New Year's Six Bowls, an SEC Championship, and back-to-back national Championships. They were also both integral parts of the Bulldogs' legendary 2021 defense.

The Bulldogs' defense held opponents to a league-best 10.2 points per game during the 2021 football season.

Along with a handful of accolades and trophies, it seems that the Bulldogs have also brought something else with them from their time at Georgia. Their work ethic. In fact, the duo's high motors have already grabbed the attention of their new teammate and fellow defensive lineman Josh Sweat.

Sweat, who has been a member of the Eagles since 2018 commented on how impressed he was with the two players' willingness to work and learn, despite their young age.

“They’re great. The work ethic is crazy for both of em. They’re professionals man... They’re here to learn & are improving quickly. They’ve been on Championship teams already, they are about their business.”

Receiving such a compliment from a teammate such as Sweat certainly should hold meaning. During the Eagles' 2022 season, Sweat accumulated 48 total tackles and 11 sacks which would aid the Eagles in an appearance in Super Bowl LVII. Carter and Smith will look to help the Eagles repeat the team's successes from the previous season.
