Sunday number one of the NFL season has officially come and gone and with James Cook, Josh Allen, and the Buffalo Bills traveling to New York to take on Aaron Rodgers, Sauce Gardner, and the Jets, week one of the NFL season will be wrapped up. Some emphatic statements from former Bulldogs like Cook were made yesterday, but how did they perform overall?

The early slate of games featured its fair share of Georgia Bulldogs who wanted to make an impact in week one for their team. Darnell Washington racked up a pancake block against the NFL's highest-paid defensive end in his rookie debut while playing alongside George Pickens, who hauled in five catches for 36 yards, as they lost to the 49ers, 30-7.

Staying in the AFC North, Roquan Smith, Ben Cleveland, Nick Moore,  and the Baltimore Ravens picked up their first win, handling the Texans 25-9. In this game, Smith in total tackles with 16; he also picked up a sack. Nick Chubb and the Cleveland Browns defeated Troy Hill and the Cincinnati Bengals 24-3 and were led by Chubb on the ground, who had 106 rushing yards, averaging 5.9 yards a carry.

Moving to the NFC South, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jake Camarda traveled to Minnesota to play the Vikings and Lewis Cine, defeating them 20-17. Justin Houston picked up two tackles as the Panthers lost to Lorenzo Carter, who also had two tackles, and the Falcons 24-10. Monty Rice picked up two tackles while Kearis Jackson made his NFL debut for the Tennessee Titans, returning four punts for 37 yards, as they lost to the Saints 16-15.

Staying in the AFC South, Travon Walker and Tyson Campbell had exceptional games for the Jacksonville Jaguars as they defeated the Colts 31-21. Both players had six total tackles, Walker picked up a sack, and Campbell had the game-sealing interception. Jonathan Ledbetter had six tackles and a sack in the NFC West as the Arizona Cardinals lost to the Washington Commanders 20-16.

4 p.m. Slated Games

The afternoon games brought even more highlights from former Georgia players, such as  Quay Walker's first career pick-six for the Green Bay Packers. In this game, Walker's four total tackles, his pick-six, and Devonte Wyatt's three total tackles and one-and-a-half sacks helped lead the Packers past the Chicago Bears 38-20.

Returning to the NFC West, Matthew Stafford's 345 total yards helped lead the L.A. Rams past the Seattle Seahawks 30-13. Derion Kendrick also helped the cause, picking up three total tackles. Staying west, Jamaree Salyer and the L.A. Chargers lost a nail-bitter to the Miami Dolphins, 35-34. Meanwhile, Zamir White and the Las Vegas Raiders pushed past the Denver Broncos, defeating them 17-16.

Moving back to the east, The Philadelphia Eagles, who are loaded with former Georgia players, pulled off a victory over the Patriots, beating them 25-20. D'Andre Swift helped offensively, catching seven passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, the Dawgs went to work. Nakobe Dean had seven total tackles, while Jordan Davis picked up six of his own and half of a sack. Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo, and Jalen Carter all had one tackle of their own, but Carter did pick up his first career sack.

Sunday Night Football

The Dallas Cowboys handled the New York Giants in the nightcap game, defeating them 40-0. All three former Bulldogs participated in this game, with Andrew Thomas getting the start at offensive tackle, while Lawrence Cager racked up two catches for 17 yards, and Azeez Ojulari had a single tackle.

Monday Night Football

In Monday's game, James Cook, Leonard Floyd, and the Buffalo Bills will take on Mecole Hardman and the New York Jets. This primetime matchup should feature plenty of the former UGA players, as the departure of Devin Singletary cleared the starting role for Cook, and the experience of Floyd and Hardman should keep them on the field consistently.
