SOURCES: Scrimmage is Being Moved to Tonight for Georgia Football

The Georgia Bulldogs second and final scrimmage before G-day has been moved to Thursday night according to sources. What it means for Georgia Football.

Now that the Georgia Bulldogs' Spring camp is in full swing, players and coaches have begun to paint a more clear picture of what the Bulldog's squad will look like for the 2023 season. Georgia was scheduled to have their second scrimmage Saturday afternoon inside of Sanford Stadium, but with a heavy chance of rain this weekend, sources have indicated to Dawgs Daily that Georgia will be moving up the scrimmage to Thursday night inside of Sanford Stadium. DawgsHQ was the first to report. 

The second and final scrimmage prior to G-Day is typically the most important evaluation tool for the coaching staffs to identify and correctly set the rosters for the intrasquad event on April 15th. 

Georgia will be in search of several answers to roster questions like the quarterback position, which has been described as "healthy" between both Carson Beck and Brock Vandagriff. 

In his opening press conference of the spring, head coach Kirby Smart expressed confidence that the Bulldogs would be in good hands regardless of which of the three scholarship quarterbacks on Georgia’s roster - redshirt Junior Carson Beck, redshirt Sophomore Brock Vandagriff, or Sophomore Gunner Stockton - wins the competition to replace Bennett, insisting, "We think we have three really good quarterbacks.” Following Georgia’s first intra-squad scrimmage of the spring, Smart again met with the media and provided an update on the quarterback competition.

The first three weeks of spring practices do not appear to have materially altered the dynamics of the quarterback battle as Smart admitted, “I can't sit and say that the dynamic has changed in any way, shape or form.”

Perhaps they will get a bit more of an answer Thursday night inside of Sanford Stadium.
