There is no doubting the talents of Brenton Cox, a 5-star Defensive end that was ranked as the 23rd overall player in the 2018 class. After spending a season in Georgia, he will now pad up for the Gators.

In fact, Cox is already on the Florida roster with a lovely little bio describing the highlights of his brief career with the Bulldogs. Highlights such as the 20 tackles he amassed last season, or that he ranked 3rd in pass breakups.

What it failed to mention was that he was dismissed from the Georgia program, and whether or not you believe the "feelings were mutual" between the UGA staff and Brenton Cox, the fact that Kirby Smart was willing to let a 5-star with such talent walk away remains.

We've reported here on The Bulldog Maven that Cox was disgruntled with being asked to move from the OLB position down to more of a defensive end spot, on top of speculation and questions about Cox's work ethic (something Kirby Smart is adamant about removing from the program).

His wishes to remain a linebacker apparently have been granted by Dan Mullen down in Gainseville, as he is currently listed as a "LB" on the roster.

Brenton Cox now becomes the only 5-star on Florida's roster, and he was an unwanted commodity in Athens.

Cox's eligibility is still up for question.
