Mustaf averaged 10.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. He also shot 43.3% from the field. Mustaf finished his Yellow Jackets career on a high note hitting double figures in the past six games. He even hit a career-high against Clemson in the final game of the season, scoring 28 points on 8-14 shooting and also added three steals.
Mustaf made the biggest jump this past season and was the Yellow Jackets most improved player. Oftentimes, he would guard the opposing team’s best player and would make it difficult for them to score on him. He was also really good at creating steals and pushing the ball in transition to enable easy opportunities and allow for the Yellow Jackets to be one of the better teams in transition this past season.
During his sophomore campaign, Mustaf increased his points per game, rebounds, assists, and free throw percentage. Even better, Mustaf increased his three-point percentage from 34.4% as a freshman to 38.9% during his sophomore season. He certainly got better throughout the year and lived up to his potential.
"Jaeden has a lot of potential. He’s a really physical guard, strong and mature. He’s a really good downhill driver, a good defender, and playmaker. So I’m really looking forward to mixing him in to the things that we’re doing here, I think he fits perfectly. He gives us a really physical presence from the guard position. He can attack, he can pass, he can draw fouls and get to the free throw line. That will carry him a long way. I’m looking forward to coaching him,” said Stoudamire.
Head coach Scott Cross will likely be very active in the portal, adding players and making acquisitions. Names to watch will be Thomas Dowd and Victor Valdes, who played for Cross at Troy. They both are in the portal, and there is a good chance they could end up at Georgia Tech. One of the biggest questions left is if Coach Cross will retain Eric Chatfield, Cole Kirouac, and Davi Remagen. The transfer portal will open on Tuesday, April 7th, and the Yellow Jackets should be active, adding a bevy of players.
