Georgia 2025 target Travares Daniels II has narrowed down his list to a top five that includes Maryland, SMU, Indiana, USF, and Georgia Tech. He holds 21 offers, with many colleges still in pursuit of the star player. Daniels II picked up a Georgia Tech offer back in January, but has yet to visit campus so far this year.

Daniels II stands at 6’3 and 205 pounds and is an outside linebacker for Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas, who just captured their 15th state championship last season. What is interesting is when you look at recruiting platforms like On3 and ESPN, Daniels II is listed as a safety. On the grassroots level, he possesses great instincts and is a play disruptor at outside linebacker. Daniels II is a hard hitter and a great tackler in the open field. The most impressive facet of his game is his ability to cover and do so in space on an island.

When you roll the tape, you can see Daniels II covering slot receivers and completely plastering them, not giving an inch of space. He is very disciplined and poised with his footwork moving his hips well and staying hip to the receiver. It will be interesting to see what Daniels II plays on the next level. It will depend on the scheme and the coaches he has at the next level. Daniells II is a versatile player who could be a Swiss army knife and a nightmare for opposing teams if used to his full capabilities. Think potentially of a safety who could play in the box and constantly attack downhill, or an outside linebacker who can rush on the edge and cover running backs and tight ends at an elite level. This is the kind of prospect you dream of having playing on your defense.

Currently, he is only rated on ESPN as a three-star prospect. ESPN rates Daniels II as No. 29 at his position (safety), No. 187 in his region, and No. 60 in his state. He finished his junior season with 70 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five passes defensed, and four sacks. His best game came in a state championship win against Homestead, where he finished with 14 tackles and a pass defensed.

In terms of what he could bring to Georgia Tech if he chooses it as his final destination, he has versatility and incredible instincts. The Yellow Jackets would be getting a prospect that could help the defense in a multitude of ways and potentially contribute early to the program. The Yellow Jackets have already landed two prospects in the 2025 class, and continue to remain high on notable prospects' top program lists.
