College Football Salaries: Brent Key is the lowest-paid head coach in the ACC in the latest USA Today Coaching Salaries release

Key is 2-3 heading into a matchup with Miami on Saturday

Every year, USA Today releases the list of college football coaching salaries for each head coach in the country. It is always an interesting talking point and comparison to see which programs are spending the most on head coaches across the country and in the conference.

At the top of the list is no surprise. Alabama's Nick Saban is making $11.4 Million per season. The rest of the top ten is Clemson's Dabo Swinney ($10.8), Georgia's Kirby Smart ($10.5), Ohio State's Ryan Day ($10.2), LSU's Brian Kelly ($9.9), Texas A&M's Jimbo Fisher ($9.1), Kentucky's Mark Stoops ($9.0), Tennessee's Josh Heupel ($9.0), Ole Miss's Lane Kiffin ($9.0), and Penn State's James Franklin ($8.5).

Power five coaches whose salary was not given due to being private schools were Lincoln Riley at USC, Mario Cristobal at Miami, Marcus Freeman at Notre Dame, Mike Elko at Duke, Troy Taylor at Stanford, and Kalani Sitake at BYU

So where does Georgia Tech's Brent Key land?

According to the report, Key makes $2.8 million annually, the lowest annual salary in the ACC. Key's salary ranks 60th among the ones that were revealed and the third-lowest power five coach, above only Washington State's Jake Dickert ($2.7) and UCF's Gus Malzahn ($2.3).
