Georgia Tech releases depth chart ahead of matchup with No. 17 Miami

Can Georgia Tech find a way to upset Miami on Saturday?

A big week is ahead for Georgia Tech Football.

Last week, they suffered an embarrassing loss to Bowling Green at home and now they must go on the road to take on the No. 17 team in the country, the Miami Hurricanes. The Yellow Jackets are going down to Miami with some changes on the defensive staff as well, as Andrew Thacker was demoted to safeties coach and Kevin Sherrer was promoted to defensive coordinator.

In terms of the depth chart though, there was no change.

Haynes King is still the starter at quarterback and for the Yellow Jackets to have a chance in this game, he is going to have to have the best game of his career. King currently leads the ACC in passing yards with nearly 1,500 this season.

At running back, the depth chart still has the "or" designation on all three of Dontae Smith, Trey Cooley, and Jamal Haynes. Haynes has been the main ball carrier through this season and Smith and Cooley did not see much action last week.

At wide receiver, Malik Rutherford, Eric Singleton Jr., and either Abdul Janneh or Dominick Blaylock will get the start. Singleton has five touchdowns this season and Blaylock had his best day as a Yellow Jacket on Saturday, going over 100 yards.

Dylan Leonard is listed at tight end, but like every game, you can expect to see Luke Benson and Brett Seither as well.

The offensive line sees no changes from last week. Jordan Williams remains out and Jakiah Leftwich is going to be at right tackle. The rest of the line remains unchanged. Ethan Mackenny at left tackle, Joe Fusile at left guard, Weston Franklin at center, and Connor Scaglione at right guard. The offensive line is going to face a big challenge against an athletic Miami front seven on Saturday.

On defense, there does not appear to be much change, but that can always change on Saturday. Eddie Kelly, Zeek Biggers, Makius Scott, and either Kyle Kennard or Kevin Harris will make up the defensive line.

Paul Moala and Trenilyas Tatum appear to be the starters once again at linebacker. This group has been rotation players in and out and it will be interesting to see the snap count.

K.J. Wallace remains the starter at nickel, Myles Sims and Ahmari Harvey at corner, LaMiles Brooks at strong safety, and either Jaylon King or Clayton Powell-Lee at free safety. This group will be tested against one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC this weekend.
