ESPN includes Tariq Carpenter in the latest roster projection for Green Bay

Carpenter is a former Georgia Tech safety

NFL cut day is coming and every team is going to need to trim their roster.

The preseason is over after this weekend teams will need to cut their rosters down to 53 and according to the latest roster projection for the Green Bay Packers, former Georgia Tech safety Tariq Carpenter is going to make the cut.

Carpenter has put in a lot of hard work in Green Bay since being picked in the seventh round of last year's NFL Draft. While he might have played safety for the Yellow Jackets, he has made the transition to linebacker for the Packers and has been a special teams ace for the team. Here is what ESPN analyst Rob Demovsky had to say about the Green Bay linebacker's:

"Campbell's ankle injury doesn't seem to be a concern for Week 1, but McDuffie has played well in his place. Switching positions is often the end for players in Green Bay, but Carpenter, who moved here from safety, makes it on his special teams value"

Carpenter has enjoyed a good preseason for the Packers and he will look to carry it into the regular season for a team that is hoping to surprise in the NFC North.

During his time in Atlanta, Carpenter totaled over 200 plus tackles and had three forced fumbles, four interceptions, and 17 pass deflections.

Good luck to Tariq!
