Everything From Wide Receiver Eric Singleton Jr After Wednesday's Practice

It was the wide receivers turn to talk to the media after the latest Georgia Tech practice.

Among the group today was returning star Eric Singleton Jr, one of the breakout stars of the ACC last year and Georgia Tech's leading receiver (48 catches, 714 yards, and six touchdowns in 2023), and here is everything he talked about after practice.

1. On his goals for the season...

"Really just come back better and do everything better than what I did last year. I need better stats than last year for sure. Trying to have at least 1 ,000 yards this evening. That's my goal."

2. On working with Coach McKnight...

"Coach McKnight, e really big on technique. So it's really improving my technique, like releases, top of the route, all that is making me better as a player. And how he's really coming in, picking up on everything fast. Because he just got here at the beginning of the spring. And he already knows some of the plays and things."

3. On changing his number...

"Really, oh no, . I just thought like I was a junior. I was a second. So why not rock, 2?"

4. On how comfortable he is in the offense now...

"It's definitely helped a lot already knowing some of the plays and the experience, it also helps a lot. I didn't think that at first, but being out there at the game is moving a lot slower for me."

5. On if any other receivers have stood out to him...

"Everybody grown over the off -season. Everybody got better. But mainly, it's good to have Leo back. Leo, Zion Taylor, great. Christian Leary, Malik, he coming back even better. Chase, better. Abdul, better. Everybody, really."

6. On what he has done this offseason to improve and have better stats in 2024...

"'m just working on my technique mainly. You know, I-- Of course everybody knows I have a speed, but I want the route running part to be like down pat. So that's what I'm working on."

7. On what it was like running track...

"Yeah, it was definitely was a great experience. Be back out there on the track and then bond another team. So that's more. teammates I have, more resources for me."

8. On if he wants to continue to run track in the future...

"I mean, football shape and track shape is two different things. I would say. But I feel like, I don't know yet, I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep doing it over the course of these next few years, but right now that's the plan, so I'm having fun out there."

9. On his decision to come back to Georgia Tech...

"It was a no -brainer for me. I wasn't really caught up in all of the pressures and all of that. I just come every day, ready to play football, ready to work, go to class. That's it."
