Former Georgia Tech Defensive Line Coach Larry Knight Hired At Temple

Former Georgia Tech defensive coach Larry Knight is going to be the new defensive line coach at Temple.

Knight had been hired at Toledo in January as the defensive line coach but is opting to head to Temple now, where he had been previously under former Yellow Jackets head coach Geoff Collins.

Per a release, Temple has named Larry Knight (@sirknight95) it’s new defensive line coach. Knight, who previously coached with the Owls from 2017-18 under former head coach Geoff Collins, returns to Temple after having spent time at both Georgia Tech and Toledo.

Knight came to Georgia Tech after two seasons under Collins at Temple (2017-18). He began at Temple as a quality-control assistant before being promoted twice — first to director of player personnel and then to outside linebackers coach/defensive recruiting coordinator. Knight coached the defensive line with David Turner last season, but now Knight is at Temple and Turner is at Mississippi State.

Key replaced Knight and Turner with former Yellow Jackets pass rusher Marco Coleman. Coleman had coached at Georgia Tech under Collins but left for Michigan State, and is now back in Atlanta.
