Fall camp has wrapped up for Georgia Tech, and the Yellow Jackets will now turn their attention to the season opener against Colorado, which is less than two weeks away now.

There has been a lot of confidence from the Yellow Jackets coaches about their improvement on the defensive side of the ball. Whether it was head coach Brent Key, defensive coordinator Jason Semore, or the different position coaches on that side of the ball, there is confidence that they are going to be much better in every facet of defense. They will have to show it on the field, but it is what you want to hear if you are a Georgia Tech fan who saw the Yellow Jackets' defense collapse in the latter part of the season.

Which players have seen their stock go up on that side of the ball that has the coaching staff so confident?

DE Amontrae Bradford

When you think about how you want an high-level player on the edge to look, Amontrae Bradford fits the bill. He has been getting reps since he arrived on campus and has been steadily improving as a rotation player during his time with the Yellow Jackets, but he might be ready to take a bigger leap in 2026.

Semore said early on in fall camp that he felt Georgia Tech was at least three deep on both ends on the edge and Bradford is a part of that group. Key and DE coach Kyle Pope have loved the progression that he has made and he has a chance to put it together in his third season.

LB Braylon Outlaw

Georgia Tech has two veteran linebackers with Kyle Efford and E.J. Lightsey who are going to eat up snaps this season, but Outlaw has had a fantastic camp and has made a case to have real playing time in some capacity this season.

The Yellow Jackets did not add any linebackers in the transfer portal this offseason and it is clear that they thought Outlaw could become an early player for them. It started with a great spring and it has rolled into a great fall camp as well.

S Tae Harris

Another position where the Yellow Jackets opted not to bring in any players via the portal, and it is because they knew they had some talented players on the back end. Harris is the most talented, and he is ready to take on a starting role for the Yellow Jackets this season. He is able to play near the line of scrimmage, but shows great instinct and ball skills in coverage.

With Georgia Tech losing Omar Daniels and Clayton Powell-Lee, who played a lot of snaps over the years for the Yellow Jackets, they need players to step up and Harris has done that. I think a big season might be in store for the second-year player.

DL Christian Garrett

Another young player who has stepped up along the defensive line. Garrett showed real flashes during his limited playing time last season, and now that he is healthy and ready to go, he has performed well during camp.

Garrett is one of the most versatile players along the defensive line for Georgia Tech and can play on the inside or even the outside in some situations. He is going to be a regular rotation player for what Georgia Tech hopes is a much improved defensive line.
