The Big Ten has a slight advantage at 39%, while the SEC sits at 38%. Kalshi grades the market based on the conference of the team that wins the National Championship. A

Conference dominance

Since the start of the BCS era in 1998 and into the College Football Playoff era in 2014, the Big Ten and SEC have dominated in National Championships. In the 28 years since, the SEC has claimed 15 titles, with Alabama responsible for six of them. The conference as a whole, though, hasn't won a title since 2022, when Georgia went back-to-back.

Although the Big Ten has just five National Championships since 1998, three different conference teams have won the last three in Michigan, Ohio State and Indiana. Ohio State makes up the other two titles in 2002 and 2014.

A look at the board

As things sit, Kalshi’s National Championship board is pretty even, with Big Ten and SEC teams sitting towards the top.
