How did Georgia Tech's commits perform on Friday night?

Georgia Tech had plenty of commits in action on Friday night

It was a loaded Friday night across the state of Georgia as High School Football kicked into high gear and the majority of teams across the state got their season started. 

Georgia Tech had 16 of its 26 commitments in the 2024 class in action on Friday and they have another (CB Trajen Greco)  playing in one of the biggest games of the weekend on Saturday. 

How did each game turn out? 

  1. CB Troy Stevenson (No. 270 OVR in the 247Sports Composite)- Stevenson plays for Philip Simons High School (SC) and they got a big win to start their season last night over Andrews High School 52-28 last night. 
  2. DE CJ Jackson (No. 193)- Jackson plays for Tucker High School (GA) and they started their season off with a 35-7 win over Miller Grove last night. 
  3. OT Jameson Riggs (No. 640)- Riggs plays for Hiram High School (GA) and the Hornets won big on Friday night, 45-0 over Paulding County. 
  4. WR Isiah Canion (No. 240)- Canion and Warner Robins High School (GA) traveled to Lee County last night and faced a really good team and came up short 26-19. 
  5. DT Marcus Downs (No. 601)- Downs plays for Riverside High School (SC) and Riverside won 49-7 over Travelers Rest High School on Friday night
  6. DE Jordan Boyd (No. 762)- Boyd and Aiken High School (SC) had a tough night on Friday, losing to Lakeside 46-24
  7. ATH Luke Harpring (No. 1158)-  Harpring and Marist High School (GA) lost a close game to Gainesville last night 34-26
  8. QB Aaron Philo (No. 786)- Philo is one of two quarterback commits for Georgia Tech and has put up great numbers in his high school career. Philo plays for Prince Avenue Christian High School (GA) and they won 42-13 over Hammond. 
  9. WR Trey Horne (No. 675)- Horne plays for Rabun Gap (GA) and they won on Friday night 35-24 over Baylor. 
  10. TE David Prince (No. 1412)- Prince plays at Glynn Academy (GA) and they shut out Statesboro High School 21-0 last night. 
  11. OL Santana Alo-Tupuola (No. 1309)- Tupuola plays for high school powerhouse IMG Academy (FL) and IMG won big on Friday night over Lipscomb Academy 35-10. 
  12. TE Lane Wadle (No. 1630)- Wadle and Greenfield-Central High School (IN) got a big 49-0 win over Madison High School on Friday. 
  13. DE Trashun Griffin (No. 1465)- Griffin and Bibb County High School (AL) won 41-6 over Isabella High School last night. 

Most of Georgia Techs' commitments won last night, which is a great sign that they are getting players that are contributing to winning high school programs. More commitments are in action today and some begin their season next week.
