Gonzaga vs. San Diego: Latest betting odds for WCC men's basketball game

Bulldogs open as heavy favorites to win 18th-straight over Toreros

The Gonzaga Bulldogs conclude a three-game road stint against a San Diego program still looking for its first win in West Coast Conference play.

Gonzaga (12-5, 3-1 WCC) earned its first win on the road in an 86-61 triumph at Pepperdine on Thursday. After a back-and-forth first half, the Bulldogs outscored the Waves 46-21 in the second half and shot 70.4% from the field after halftime. Graham Ike led with 24 points, Nolan Hickman added 19 and Anton Watson chipped in 16 after tying his career-high of 32 points in the loss at Santa Clara last week.

With the win, Mark Few became the second-fastest head coach in Division-I history to reach 700 career victories behind Kentucky's Adolph Rupp. Few still boasts the best winning percentage of all time at 83.4%.

San Diego (10-9, 0-4 WCC) had a tough draw to start league play, with its first three games coming against Saint Mary's, Gonzaga and San Francisco. The Toreros were in line for their first WCC win against Pepperdine before squandering a 15-point lead, going six minutes without a score in the 83-77 letdown at home. San Diego hasn't started 0-5 in league play since the 2003-04 season when it lost its first seven.

Deuce Turner averages 20.0 points in league action, the third-most in the WCC. Wayne McKinney III, who did not play in the first meeting with the Zags, is second on the team with 14.6 points per game. PJ Hayes leads the team with 40 made 3-pointers.

The Bulldogs have won 17 in a row over the Toreros, including a 101-74 final in Spokane on Jan 6. Ben Gregg recorded a career-high 22 points and four steals off the bench as Gonzaga scored 27 points off 19 turnovers from San Diego. The Toreros have lost 13 of the last 14 meetings at home.

Gonzaga is 7-9 against the spread this season and 3-1 in WCC play per covers.com. The Bulldogs are 3-7 ATS after a win and have only covered once as the favorite on the road. They did manage to cover the 24-point spread in the first meeting with the Toreros in Spokane.

San Diego is 6-11 ATS and hasn't covered since its WCC opener against Saint Mary's. The Toreros have covered four of six games as the home underdog, but they've failed to cover in six of the seven games following a loss. San Diego will have a rest advantage after its game Thursday against Portland was postponed to Tuesday.
