The Gonzaga Bulldogs bring their four-game winning streak home to Spokane on Tuesday when they host Loyola Marymount at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
The West Coast Conference clash pits LMU guard Dominick Harris against his former team for the first time. The 6-foot-3 guard committed to Gonzaga in 2020 and spent the last three seasons in Spokane before departing for LMU last May. Harris, a former four-star recruit, missed the 2021-22 season due to injury and averaged 6.3 minutes in 38 appearances with the Bulldogs.
The redshirt junior makes his return to The Kennel as the Lions' leading scorer at 14.7 points per game. Harris also paces the WCC shooting 43.3% on 6.4 3-point attempts per game this season.
The Bulldogs (15-5, 6-1 WCC) enter Tuesday fresh off an 82-73 win over Pacific in Stockton, California, on Saturday. Graham Ike scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half to help his team break away from the pesky Tigers, who took a 54-53 lead with 8:16 left before an 18-8 scoring run made it 72-61 game at the 3:04 mark. Four other Bulldogs scored in double-figures.
The Lions (10-11, 3-4 WCC) look to keep up in the WCC race as they sit two games behind San Francisco for fourth place. LMU fell short at Saint Mary's, 70-65, in a back-and-forth game that saw 10 lead changes in the second half. Will Johnston and Keli Leaupepe each had 15 points while Justin Wright chipped in 14, as the Lions outshot the Gaels from the field and on 3-point attempts and won the rebounding battle 31-26.
Gonzaga has won 32 of the last 33 games against LMU in Spokane, though the Lions stole the last one in a 68-67 stunner on Jan. 19, 2023. The upset snapped the Bulldogs' 75-game win streak at home, which was the eighth-longest in Division-I history.
