He earned the award after averaging 29.0 points on 54.8 percent shooting from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range, and 85.7% from the free throw line while leading the Illini to a home victory over Michigan and road win at Maryland. The Illini are coming off a loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions after blowing a late lead. Iowa and Illinois will face off against one another twice in a 15-day stretch, as the Hawkeyes host the Illini on March 10 in the regular season finale.
