Indiana Women's Basketball Picked to Finish 2nd in Big Ten by Media, 3rd by Coaches

Coach Teri Moren and the Indiana women's basketball team were picked to finish second in the Big Ten during the upcoming 2023-24 college basketball season by media, and picked to finish third by Big Ten coaches. Additionally, Indiana's Mackenzie Holmes was named to the preseason All-Big Ten team by both coaches and media.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Big Ten released its preseason awards for the 2023-24 women's college basketball season on Wednesday.

Coach Teri Moren and the Indiana women's basketball team are the defending Big Ten regular season champions. However, Moren's Hoosiers were not picked to repeat and win the conference in 2023-24.

Instead, both media and coaches picked the Iowa Hawkeyes, led by superstar guard Caitlin Clark, to bring home the conference title. Here is what the media and coaches predicted for how the Big Ten will shake out in 2023-24:

Media Big Ten 2023-24 Preseason Picks

Coach Lisa Bluder and the Iowa Hawkeyes finished behind Indiana in last year's conference standings, but won the 2022-23 Big Ten Tournament and advanced all the way to the NCAA National Championship before losing to LSU.

Additionally, media and coaches voted on preseason All-Big Ten teams, and Indiana forward Mackenzie Holmes was selected to both.

Holmes was a unanimous selection for the coaches preseason All-Big Ten team, but not for the media All-Big Ten team. Here is who both the coaches and the media selected from the conference:
