Indiana Pursuing Penn Transfer Jordan Dingle, Ivy League Player of the Year
College basketball's second-leading scorer entered the transfer portal on Friday morning, and Indiana was quick to reach out.
Jordan Dingle, a 6-foot-3 guard from Penn, averaged 23.4 points while shooting 35.6 percent from 3-point range and 85.6 percent from the free throw line as a junior. He was named Ivy League Player of the Year in 2022-23.
Across his three-year career at Penn, Dingle started 72 games and averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. A high-volume shooter, Dingle made 200-of-581 3-point attempts in his career, good for 34.4 percent.
Dingle originally declared for the NBA Draft on April 5 while maintaining his collegiate eligibility, but if he decides to stay in college, he'll look to use his final year of eligibility elsewhere. According to Travis Graf of MADE Hoops, Indiana and Washington were the first two schools to reach out to Dingle. Expect a slew of high-major schools to pursue Dingle.

Dingle is the son of Dana Dingle, who reached the 1996 Final Four with UMass under coach John Calipari.
Isaac Trotter of 247Sports listed Indiana as one of 11 potential destinations for Dingle.
"With point guard Xavier Johnson back for another season, Dingle profiles as an ideal running mate thanks to his excellent catch-and-shoot profile and the ability to make plays off the bounce," Trotter wrote. "Dingle is not a point guard, but he could handle the load when Johnson needs a blow. Indiana has a vault of NIL with oodles of opportunities to be a double-digit scorer in the Big Ten.
Indiana currently has three available scholarships for the 2023-24 season following the addition of transfer forwards Kel'el Ware from Oregon and Payton Sparks from Ball State, as well as point guard Xavier Johnson receiving a sixth year of eligibility.
Miami forward Anthony Walker visited Indiana on Thursday, and Indiana is one of four schools – along with Kansas, Saint John's and Louisville – that will host a visit for class of 2023 five-star forward Mackenzie Mgbako, who recently decomitted from Duke.
