Class of 2021 Indiana Target Jordan Longino to Announce His College Decision on Thursday

Four-star shooting guard Jordan Longino out of Germantown Academy in Pennsylvania will announce his college destination on Thursday. Indiana is one of seven teams in the mix.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Class of 2021 shooting guard Jordan Longino from Germantown Academy in Pennsylvania announced via his Twitter on Monday that he will reveal his college destination on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The seven schools involved are Indiana, Villanova, Virginia, Ohio State, UConn, Maryland and Marquette.

Longino is a four-star shooting guard and a top-15 guard nationally. Indiana came into the mix on April 8 when they officially offered Longino a scholarship.

In his freshman season in high school, Longino averaged 21 points per game, which was second-most in Philadelphia’s Inter-Academic League. He then saw that total increase to 22.6 points per game his sophomore year and 22.9 points per game his junior year.

Longino has some basketball lineage in his family, as his father, Eric, played collegiately at Illinois-Chicago and SMU. His older brother is the second-leading scorer all-time in Germantown history with 1,658 points.

With one more season left to play, Longino might catch up to this brother’s total. Longino’s biggest strengths are his ability to score and shoot the ball. He’s a 6-foot-5, 170-pound guard who can really get hot from the outside.

This past season, Longino shot better than 54 percent from the field and better than 41 percent from the 3-point line. He was also an 80 percent free-throw shooter.

So far, Indiana only has one commitment for the class of 2021 and it’s Logan Duncomb out of Archbishop Moeller in Cincinnati, Ohio. Longino’s potential commitment would give Indiana its first backcourt player for the class.

Longino would also be joining a pretty stacked backcourt, as Rob Phinisee, Khristian Lander, Armaan Franklin, Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway are all expected to be on the roster come 2021.

Many believe Villanova is the favorite since it is Longino’s home state, but Indiana has shown a lot of interest in the explosive shooting guard.

Longino will most likely make his decision on Twitter at 8 p.m., as there have been no indications of any type of live stream or event for his announcement.
