BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — An Indiana women’s basketball team spokesperson informed HoosiersNow Friday morning that the team’s Friday flight to Iowa has been postponed until Saturday morning at 10 a.m. ET as the state faces blizzard conditions. This means that the Hoosiers would arrive on game day ahead of the nationally televised matchup against No. 3 Iowa on Saturday night.

Prior to that update, Indiana head coach Teri Moren said in the press conference around 9:45 a.m. that “we cannot control the weather … but what we will not do is, we will not get in any aircraft that is unsafe. I can promise you that.” Indiana was scheduled to depart Bloomington from Monroe County Airport at 2:30 p.m. ET Friday after plans to leave on Thursday were shelved.

A blizzard warning has been issued for much of Iowa through 6 a.m. Saturday, and more than two dozen flights at the Des Moines airport were canceled Friday morning. Schools were closed, and law enforcement agencies were warning residents to stay off the roads as the National Weather Service warned of near-white-out conditions later Friday and into Saturday morning. Iowa City is expected to receive another 10 inches of snow by Saturday morning.

HoosiersNow will continue to provide known updates about the team’s travel situation.
