Welcome to our live blog for Saturday's matchups between Indiana and Penn State, where we'll share live updates, highlights and thoughts on the game live from press row at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana begins February with a home game against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Noon ET inside Assembly Hall.

Coach Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers are coming off a 74-68 win over Iowa on Tuesday. Penn State secured a 61-46 road win over Rutgers on Wednesday, and the Nittany Lions will be without leading scorer Kanye Clary (face) today.

Welcome to our live blog for today's game, where we'll share updates, highlights and thoughts on the game from press row at Assembly Hall.

2:00 p.m. – Final: Penn State 85, Indiana 71. Indiana led by 11 points with 5:15 left in the first half, then played some of its worst basketball of the season the rest of the way. Penn State 12-for-22 from 3-point range. Indiana is 13-9, 5-6. At Ohio State Tuesday.

1:51 p.m. – Assembly Hall is clearing out as IU trails Penn State 83-65 with 2:30 left.

1:44 p.m. – Hicks drills another three, and that just might be the dagger. Penn State leads Indiana 78-63 with 4:16 left. Indiana led by 11 points with 5:15 left in the first half, but has really struggled ever since.

1:39 p.m. – Cupps misses the front end of the one-and-one, it rimmed out. That just can't happen when Indiana is trying to pull off a late comeback. Mgbako called four a foul on the rebound, and Hicks knocks down both free throws. That's a four-point swing with just one second coming off the clock.

1:35 p.m. – Baldwin drills a three over Cupps to push Penn State's lead to 71-57 with 6:13 left. Penn State now 11-for-21 from 3-point range. The comeback has to start now, or else Indiana will take a devastating home loss to a team with a 10-11 record.

1:31 p.m. – IU trails Penn State 64-51 with 8:47 left. Indiana has scored just 10 points all half and looks very unsure of itself offensively. Ware had 17 points in the first half, but he hasn't scored in the second half.

1:27 p.m. – Reneau picks up his third foul, so Woodson goes small and replaces him with Cupps. I think Indiana has to go small the rest of the way in order to keep up with Penn State's 3-point shooting offense.

1:24 p.m. – Indiana had to have that three from Mgbako on the left wing. Penn State had just taken its largest lead of the game at 13 points. The 3-point disparity is significant again today. Penn State 10-for-18. Indiana 4-for-13. Penn State leads 61-51.

1:19 p.m. – Penn State's lead is up to 11 now after a 3-pointer from Dunn. He's got eight points, and Penn State leads 59-48 with 11:32 left.

1:18 p.m. – Reneau got a good look from three on a kick-out from Leal, but he missed. Dunn knocks down a three on the other end, extending Penn State's lead to 56-48 with 12:25 left. A lot of time left, but Indiana's 3-point defense has to sharpen up.

1:16 p.m. – Tough buckets from Reneau on back-to-back possessions to cut Penn State's lead to 51-48. If O'Boyle is guarding Reneau, Indiana has to go to him every possession. Reneau up to 14 points.

1:12 p.m. – Galloway had an open look for three in the corner, but he missed badly. Reneau did well to kick the ball out after being double-teamed, but Indian can't convert. IU trails 47-43 with 15:01 left

1:06 p.m. – An Ace Baldwin 3-pointer gives Penn State its first lead of the game, 45-43. The Nittany Lions are 8-for-15 from 3-point range today.

1:04 p.m. – Indiana called for a 10-second violation. Penn State has been pressing most of the game, and that's caused Indian some trouble. Galloway gets a steal on the following possession, though, and takes it coast to coast for a layup. IU leads 43-39.

12:42 p.m. – Nifty move by Galloway to spin past the Penn State defense in the lane then drop off a pass to Reneau for an easy layup. IU leads 39-33.

12:37 p.m. – Puff Johnson beats the Hoosiers down the court, extending Penn State's run to 8-0. But Indiana gets a much-needed response by Kel'el Ware, who hits a three from the top of the key. IU leads 37-31 at the under-4 timeout.

12:35 p.m. – Penn State now 5-for-10 from 3-point range. Indiana turns it over on back-to-back possessions, first with Leal throwing it away trying to break the press and second with Reneau traveling. IU leads 34-26.

12:33 p.m. – Penn State is hanging around thanks to another mid-range jumper from Ace Baldwin, but Reneau converts an old-fashioned 3-point play on the following possession. Indiana is really pounding the ball inside today. Hoosiers lead 31-23.

12:28 p.m. – As the shot clock winded down, Leal hoisted a corner three and missed everything. He argued it got tipped, but officials say Penn State ball. Indiana leads 28-21 at the under-8 timeout.

12:26 p.m. – Leal tried to thread a pass through the Penn State defense to a back-cutting CJ Gunn, but it goes out of bounds for a turnover. Baldwin hits a mid-range jumper on the next possession. IU leads 26-19.

12:23 p.m. – Anthony Leal gets a big hand from the Assembly Hall crowd as he checks in for the first time after scoring a career-high 13 points Tuesday against Iowa Galloway pokes away a steal, and it leads to an easy dunk going the other way. After a Penn State turnover, Mgbako takes it hard to the basket for a layup. IU leads 24-16.

12:20 p.m. – Hicks drills a three for Penn State out of the timeout. Indiana having some trouble with 3-point defense today, but still leads 19-14.

12:16 p.m. – Cupps tried a long, cross-court pass against Penn State's full-court press, and it got tipped away for a turnover, leading to a Penn State layup. Mgbako answers with a three on the other end. IU leads 19-11 at the under-12.

12:14 p.m. – Indiana allows another offensive rebound, which, like the last one, leads to an open three from Penn State, this time Jameel Brown. The Hoosiers weren't able to scramble back to their men after the rebound. IU leads 16-9.

12:12 p.m. – Really good defense from Cupps and Galloway on the perimeter after the timeout. They kept Penn State above the 3-point line all possession, until Baldwin forced a pass inside that flew out of bounds. Galloway buries a deep three on the next possession. IU leads 14-6.

12:07 p.m. – Mgbako forced a tough look spinning through the lane, but Reneau was there for the put-back. Baldwin took a contested three over Cupps and drilled it, but Ware answered with an and-one inside. He'll have another free throw after the under-16 timeout with IU leading 10-6.

12:06 p.m. – Indiana got a bit lost in its matchups after an offensive rebound by Penn State, and that led to an open three from Zach Hicks. Reneau missed a tough look inside on the next possession. IU has been a bit shaky with the ball so far. IU leads 4-3.

12:04 p.m. – Indiana swung it all around the arc with great ball movement to free Mgbako for a corner three, but he missed. Ware grabbed the offensive rebound, got fouled and made both free throws. IU leads 4-0.

12:03 p.m. – Strong inside finish from Ware on Indiana's third possession. Indiana has pounded the ball into Ware and Reneau each possession so far. It's clear they believe they have an advantage down low.

12:02 p.m. – Indiana wins the tip and we're under way from Assembly Hall. Ware turns it over on the first possession, and Reneau did the same on the next trip.

11:52 p.m. – Officials for today are Rob Riley, Courtney Green and Tim Comer. Indiana is favored by 6.5 points, and the over under is 149.5 points just before tipoff.

11:51 p.m. – Indiana is wearing the Black History Month jerseys today. Here's a picture.

11:40 p.m. – Starters for Indiana today are Gabe Cupps, Trey Galloway, Mackenzie Mgbako, Malik Reneau and Kel'el Ware. For Penn State, it's Ace Baldwin Jr., D'Marco Dunn, Nick Kern, Zach Hicks and Qudus Wahab.

11:22 a.m. – Malik Reneau is in full uniform for warmups. Looks like he's good to go today.

10:40 a.m. – Indiana senior point guard Xavier Johnson will not play in today's game due to an elbow injury. Sophomore forward Malik Reneau is listed questionable, and he leads the Hoosiers with 16 points per game.
