Indiana Football Lands Commitment From Class of 2024 RB Justus Savage

Class of 2024 running back Justus Savage has committed to Tom Allen and the Indiana Hoosiers, which he announced in a social media post on Thursday.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Coach Tom Allen and the Indiana Hoosiers have picked up another football commit in the class of 2024.

Justus Savage — a 5-foot-10, 195-pound running back from Fairburn, Ga. — announced his commitment to Indiana on X/Twitter on Thursday.

According to 247 Sports, Savage also had offers from Toledo, Bethune-Cookman and Charleston Southern. Savage also posted on his X/Twitter account that he had scholarship offers from Jacksonville State and Austin Peay.

The running back does currently have a star rating on 247 Sports. However, he does play at Langston Hughes High School in the same backfield as Air Noland, the four-star Ohio State quarterback commit in the class of 2024.

Savage is the 19th player to commit to Indiana in the class of 2024, and his commitment comes just a day after the Hoosiers landed Josh Philostin. Whereas Savage does not have a star in his recruiting rating, Philostin is ranked as either a three-star of four-star cornerback by several different recruiting sites. He's undoubtedly one of the most highly touted players IU has landed in the class of 2024.

Allen noted Monday that this recruiting class is nearly complete, and that during the bye week, him and the coaching staff took the weekend to focus on recruiting and go out to watch different high school football prospects.

"You might add a guy or two, but I don't see a lot more," Allen said. "I'm thinking kind of the 18 to 20-ish range is kind of where you're at, and then once again, the portal becomes utilized to offset any departures that you might have that you either expected or didn't expect and to be able to keep the rooms balanced."
