Indiana Commit Bryson Tucker Playing in McDonald's All-American Game Tuesday

The 2024 McDonald's All-American game will showcase 24 of the best high school basketball players on the country on Tuesday in Houston, including recent Indiana commit Bryson Tucker.

Indiana commit Bryson Tucker will compete with some of the nation's top high school talent in the 2024 McDonald's All-American game.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas – the home of the NBA's Houston Rockets – and will be broadcast on ESPN.

Three Hoosiers will have played in the McDonald's All-American game in three consecutive seasons, including Tucker, Mackenzie Mgbako (2023) and Kel'el Ware (2022). Indiana's run with McDonald's All-Americans extends even further to Trayce Jackson-Davis (2019), Romeo Langford (2018), Thomas Bryant (2015) and James Blackmon Jr. (2014) in the last decade alone.

Tucker, a 6-foot-7 wing, was a late addition to Indiana's high school class of 2024 recruiting class, as he committed last Thursday over offers from Kansas, Michigan State and others. He's a five-star recruit and ranked No. 20 in the nation, per the 247 Sports Composite rankings, out of Bishop O'Connell High School in Virginia.

"They've always been recruiting me but it just took me longer to do the visit," Tucker said of Indiana during media day leading up to the McDonald's All-American game. "When I went there the culture and everything that I witnessed I just really liked it and the coaching staff is like a pro coaching staff so they know where I'm trying to get to and can help me get there ... I think we can do a lot, also getting in some transfers, but with the coaching there once he has the bodies it's definitely going to turn around quickly."

On Monday, On3's Jamie Shaw listed Tucker as one of the top performers at the second day of practice leading up to the McDonald's All-American game.

"Bryson Tucker played with a lot of confidence today," Shaw wrote. "He had a good feel on the ball, probing in the half-court getting in the mid-range and elevating from the elbows. Tucker has impressed this weekend on the defensive end. He has played physically with good athleticism. Tucker’s jump shot has improved, while still a little bit flat. He is better at knocking down shots off the bounce, especially in the mid-range. He is comfortable on the ball and plays good balance"

Tucker is Indiana's only 2024 commit, and coach Mike Woodson still has six open scholarships heading into the 2024-25 season.
