Iowa Football dipped into the Chicago Public League for Kahlil Tate during the 2023 recruiting cycle. The Hawkeyes have been looking at another Kenwood Academy prospect in the '25 Class.

Defensive lineman Aariz Taylor visited campus on Tuesday after attending a game at Kinnick Stadium during October. He caught up with Tate, watched the Hawkeyes work out and talked with coaches.

"I liked the practice and the one-on-one sit-down with coach (Kelvin) Bell," Taylor told HN.

Bell coaches the defensive line. The Hawkeyes are developing a lot of talent at the position.

"They said they like my versatility, how I'm able to play multiple spots on the field and my non-stop motor," Taylor said.

Taylor (6-4, 220) reports scholarship offers from Indiana, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Eastern Illinois and Toledo. Plenty of other programs, like Iowa, are showing interest.

"I was invited for a practice day, and I already liked Iowa. This made me like them even more," he said.

Northwestern played host to the local talent on Sunday. He's been invited to the Under Armour All-American April 28 in Ohio.

"I might be back in Iowa for a camp or Gold Game. I would like to see their learning facilities," he said.

Taylor is considering college majors in Business or Architecture.
