IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa junior Caitlin Clark has been named to the 2023 Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Midseason Top 10, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Monday. Clark won the award in 2022.

Clark also earned Co-Big Ten Player of the Week honors the conference office announced on Monday. This marks Clark’s 16th weekly award from the conference, which is fourth-most in conference history. She has garnered weekly honors four times this season which is a conference best.

The Lieberman list is comprised of 10 student-athletes who are currently in the running for the 24th annual Nancy Lieberman Award that recognizes the best point guard in women’s basketball. The list is chosen based on their floor leadership, playmaking, and ball-handling skills.

This season, Clark is the only player in the nation with more than 550 points, 160 rebounds, 160 assists, and 30 steals. She has registered +25 points, +5 rebounds, and +5 assists in 12 games this year and 34 times in her career which is the most in NCAA women's basketball history. Clark is leading the Hawkeyes with 27.1 ppg, 7.9 rpg, and 7.9 apg.

Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting, which will open up on Friday, February 3rd. In March, the five finalists will be presented to Lieberman and the Hall of Fame’s selection committee where a winner will be selected.

Previous winners of the Nancy Lieberman Award include: Clark, Iowa (2022), Paige Bueckers, UConn (2021), Sabrina Ionescu, Oregon (2018-20), Skylar Diggins, Notre Dame (2012-13), Diana Taurasi, Connecticut (2003-04) and Sue Bird, Connecticut (2000-02).

The West Des Moines, Iowa, native also was recognized as Big Ten Player of the Year and was a Naismith and Wooden Award finalist in 2022.

Clark led the Hawkeyes to its best road win in program history over No. 2 Ohio State last week, leading to the league honor. She recorded a triple-double with 28 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds. She joined Marquette men’s basketball All-American Dwyane Wade as the only NCAA Division I players since 1999-2000 with a triple-double against an AP top-2 opponent.

Against Nebraska, Clark fell just shy of another triple-double with 33 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. It was her 36th career double-double. It was Clark’s 12th game this season with +25 points, +5 rebounds, +5 assists which is an NCAA best. She has done 34 times in her career.

Clark is top five in country in 10 statistical categories. The West Des Moines, Iowa native, is the only player in the country with more than 550 points, 160 rebounds, 160 assists, and 30 steals.
