The Kansas Jayhawks have one of the more underrated prospects in the nation enrolled as an incoming true freshman.

Isaiah Marshall is a three-star dual-threat quarterback who played high school football at Southfield High School in Southfield, Michigan. Marshall has many high-level traits, as we noted in our film breakdown earlier this week.

Marshall’s father (Brian) spoke with Blue Wings Rising about his son.

“This list of talents that separates him is quite lengthy,” Brian stated to Blue Wings Rising. “The first is his ability to have an entire play break down and find a way to turn it into a positive one. This incorporates his football IQ, in-game awareness and sense of the situation, and an uncanny timing to make moves with the ball that end up in positive results. He is ridiculously calm when the storm is most intense. Quite frankly, I think he relishes the opportunity to work within the chaos knowing he will lead his team out of it. I would also say his competitive fire inside brings out the best in him every time. He combines this fire with infinite God-given athletic ability, his preparation, and sense of in-game action to make the incredible happen when it seems it could not.”

“Zeek is a fearless leader who knows his role is to serve his team,” Brian stated about his son. “He is quiet by nature but utilizes his voice when it needs to be used. However, the greatest demonstration of his leadership is when his team has everything going against them. He will hoist them on his back and always comes through bringing out the best in them, which brings out the best in him. He is a leader who serves his team in any way necessary. Listen to any interview, any conversation he has, he is giving all the credit to his teammates and openly lets everyone know, they are the reason the team is successful.”

Brian dove deeper into Isaiah as a person off the field. “Isiah is the most humble, giving, and caring young man I have ever met in my life. He wears a genuine smile all day long and shares himself with others. He works with young kids, helps his peers in any way necessary, and loves his family immensely. He is who every parent would love for the daughter to date as he always treats others with respect and stays even keel in his approach to life.”

“He will bring dynamic energy, a presence of humility and the results will be Kansas playing at a championship level,” said Brian. “He will do so because he makes other players around him even better. Because of who he is as a person, he builds trust with and confidence in each of his teammates. They believe in him. The results will be championship-caliber play by the entire team. The excitement on the field he brings will be contagious!”

“I expect him to be the difference maker for his team. I believe he will lead the Jayhawks to become champions. I believe he will lead them into the college playoffs. I also believe he will be in the Heisman race when his time is right. I know I am biased. However, I don’t hold these expectations because of that. I expect this as he has always led his teams to become champions and he has always been the best player on every field.”
