Despite a close loss Saturday to the TCU Horned Frogs yesterday, the Kansas Jayhawks received enough votes to stay ranked in the Top 25. They fell three spots to #20 in the coaches poll, but they remained at #19 in the AP Top 25.

Last week, the Kansas Jayhawks accomplished something that hadn't been done since the Mark Mangino era: being ranked in the college football top 25

The Jayhawks first received votes in the polls three weeks ago without getting enough votes to crack the Top 25. Two weeks ago, a bunch of people were upset, when they narrowly missed out.

But a 5-0 start to the season was too much to ignore, and Kansas finally cracked the polls, ranking 17 in the Coaches Poll and 19 in the AP Poll.

But the loss on Saturday had many worried about voters using it as an excuse to drop the Jayhawks out of the poll.

But at least so far, it seems that the Jayhawks have earned the respect of the voters.

Other Big 12 teams joining the Jayhawks in the Coaches Poll are Oklahoma State at 7, TCU at 15, Kansas State at 16, Baylor at 23 and Texas at 24.

It's an impressive showing for the Big 12:

It was even better for Kansas in the AP Poll, as they maintained their ranking at #19:
