The campaign for College Gameday has begun.

In this story:
The Kansas Jayhawks are 3-0, and that has a LOT of people excited about the possibilities. One of those is an honor that the basketball team is used to getting but would be a first for football: College Gameday.
For the curious, College GameDay has visited Kansas 10 times for 🏀

Never for 🏈
And while there were a lot of calls from Kansas fans for the production to make its way to Lawrence, KS, it was much more impressive how many national media members were captivated by the idea.
GameDay HAS to go to Lawrence next week if it's 3-0 Duke at 3-0 Kansas, right?

Kansas v Duke, two bluebloods. Oh wait,fb! Unreal. Someone call Gameday
— Dennis Dodd (@dennisdoddcbs) September 18, 2022
GameDay has never been to Kansas and next week's schedule doesn't have any must-go big games.

Florida-Tennessee? Clemson-Wake? A&M-Arkansas?I would vote Kansas-Duke https://t.co/VUiET8cqGO
Travis Goff got in on the action, tagging pretty much everyone involved in the College Gameday production:
Lawrence, KS. It will be magical next weekend, @CollegeGameDay. Let’s do something special together. @KirkHerbstreit @DesmondHoward @ReceDavis @PatMcAfeeShow @davidpollack47 @chrisfallica #CollegeGameday2Lawrence https://t.co/m27XeS15Zr

The complication is that Duke vs Kansas is slated for an 11am kickoff on FS1. While it isn't unprecedented for ESPN to go to the site of a game not broadcasting on one of their networks, it can make logistics difficult.
The longer we go without a GameDay announcement the more I think they're seriously considering going to Duke-Kansas and they're working on logistics. We'll see.

We'll keep an eye on this and update you as more information becomes available, but I think this tweet summed up the sentiment across the nation pretty well:
ESPN College GameDay for Football will go to Lawrence for the first time ever next week to see 3-0 Duke take on 3-0 Kansas*!

* they haven’t committed yet but if they don’t we riot!
